Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Fighting Against Rebellion Summoners!

Time flies! Just completed the 108th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 8 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 4th!!!

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 9 guilds and got 538 Merits and around 14 SPS! Slipped out of podium, which is a little disappointing, but that's alright. There's always the next brawl!

Individually, I had 8 fights this time and I managed to win only 6 of them this time! Finished 3rd within the guild!

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

My Melee lineup didn't do well against a Mylor-led lineup and the Thorns was just enough to hurt my team and I lost out in this close battle.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This was a textbook lineup for a Poison ruleset. Forgotten One's Immunity was just enough to defend against the hard-hitting Grum win this battle.

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

It's the third battle already and I have not used any Gladius cards yet. Weird. Anyway, both teams came up with Water lineups in this fight with a couple of similar cards. In the end, Kelya Frendul's Armor boost made the difference as that 1 Armor allowed my cards to soak up 1 extra hit.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

Still no Gladius cards! Haha! My opponent fielded a relatively weak lineup for a 99 mana battle and there was no way their team had any chance in this, despite having a Rebellion summoner. My team came in with a pure Magic damage output strategy and executed it to perfection.

MVP: None (almost like a free win)

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Alfredo

Finally a Gladius card, but Alfredo was chosen more for a filler card actually. Hehe! At least he did his part! Another Rebellion summoner in my opponent's lineup but I thought it wasn't used well. With so many Ranged cards, my opponent might have fared better picking General Sloan. Maybe it's all part and parcel of experimenting. Anyway, my Water Ranged cards proved their worth and swiped to an easy win. Wanted to give MVP to Wave Brood for that amazing Taunt ability but it missed too many hits. So it's Axemaster!

Battle 6 - WIN

Opponent fled! Lol!

Battle 7 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: None

They changed the Weapons Training rules and it just slipped my mind that I could use Aves Sturgis for this battle. Anyway, my opponent fielded the perfect combination and it was a giveaway win from me. Sigh.

Battle 8 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

This was one of the closest battles that I have encountered! I was left hanging by a thread with Relenor Cleaver making the final hit with just 1 HP. Despite fielding two Gladius cards, my team was attacked from all over the place by Opportunity and Sneak attacks. Fortunately, Relenor Cleaver soaked up enough Bloodlust and was enough to take on what's remaining in the final stages of the battle. One of the best individual performances by Relenor Cleaver.

So that sums up my 8 battles for this brawl! 75% win rate, a job well done in my view!
