Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Helmet Kharafax Scores The Only Win!

Time flies! Just completed the 126th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Moving to Silver Fray

I have always been playing Bronze level frays, but there's where my cards are at. However, someone actually took my fray this time and in the spirit of teamwork (and a little helplessness), I decided to join Fray 9, which was a Silver level fray. I was expecting my Level 1 and Level 2 summoners to be in for a thrashing but things turned out totally opposite from what I expected.

Had 3 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 4th!!

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 9 guilds and got 646 Merits and around 13 SPS!

Individually, I had 6 fights this time and I managed to win only 1 of them this time! Finished 9th (last) within the guild! Eeks! Due to change in format, wins are actually awarded to the players present in the fray if guilds decided to skip the fray. Hence there were 2 additional wins for me.

Battle 1 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Gorth and Chimney Wallstop

I was just outfought by max Silver deck here. Not only were my cards of a lower level, I didn't have a lot of additional abilities which my opponent's cards had. Despite with 2 Gladius cards, I was outclassed.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Helmet Kharafax and Sola Ranjell

This battle was super epic! Both teams were in a stalemate for 20 rounds because of the healers and it was fatigue that triggered the actual fight. As both teams succumbed to fatigue, it was Helmet Kharafax that shone with Scavenge ability. A very rare MVP for this Gladius card that doesn't have any damage.

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

Once again, I was outclassed by the disparity of levels of the cards. My relatively strong lineup just didn't have enough to handle that Enraged Diemonshark.

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

Level 2 Legendary summoner. Level 2 Legendary card. I was once again outclassed by this max Silver deck. Even my typical strong Water lineup couldn't scratch this lineup.

Gladius Card Used: Witch Of Warwick

This is going to sound like a broken record... But I was once again outclassed by this max Silver deck. Ah what a brawl.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! A 17% win rate, what a crappy brawl, and I was just demolished in this Silver fray this time.

Review Of Gladius Cards

Since I am able to use Gladius cards now, I thought I should review selected cards that helped me win in the brawls. I had a backlog from last week so this week's feature is none other than Helmet Kharafax! Of course, please let me know if you have any tips in using these cards too as I am keen to learn and improve too!

ELEMENT: LIFE
RARITY: COMMON
ABILITY: BLOODLUST, SCAVENGE

It's been a while since I had to review Gladius cards and Helmet Kharafax finally made his way into one battle and won me the only battle in this brawl!!! Helmet Kharafax is not the typical Gladius card because the Bloodlust ability is almost useless because he doesn't have any damage (unless in cases of Weapons Training). However, like what we have seen in this brawl, in specific rulesets where we expect a lot of cards to go down, having a card with Scavenge ability is very valuable regardless whether it is Gladius or non-Gladius.
