Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - Rare And Common Cards Shine

Time flies! Just completed the 65th brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 6 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 3rd

So for the final result, we were 3rd out of 10 guilds and got 754 Merits and around 11 SPS! Our erratic form continued and we fell from 1st to 3rd this time.

Individually, I had only 6 fights this time and I won 5 of them!! Not what I was expecting but WOOHOO! Finished 5th in the guild.

Battle 1 - WIN

Opponent fled! Awesome start!

Battle 2 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Palidon Rakk and Katrelba Gobson

My entire lineup was neutralised by the opposing Astral Entity's Dodge ability. Even with two Gladius cards, I had a ton of misses and before I knew it, the entire team was taken down. Hmm why didn't I go for Astral Entity? :(

Battle 3 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Isgald Vorst

I always find comfort in my Water lineups and this time, they delivered once again. Sea Monster fell easily to Magic damage and it was Isgald Vorst that secured enough Bloodlust and saved the team.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

This was an interesting 12 mana battle. Cursed Windeku did a 1 vs 5 and single-handedly won me this battle. It doesn't matter how many cards you have - it's how you use them. ;)

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Katrelba Gobson

This was a tough 99 mana battle. I had limited cards and being unable to use Magic cards was very challenging for me. I fielded my best possible lineup and the unlikely star turned out to be Hunter Jarx, whose Ranged attacks proved to be critical.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver

Another Water lineup, another win. Demented Shark's Inspire boosted the entire Melee lineup and it was comfortable win to end this week's brawl.

So that sums up my 6 battles for this brawl! 83% win rate and we have an interesting set of MVP cards - none of them are Legendary cards!
