Guild Brawls With Pizza 2 - We Filled All 84 Battles!

Time flies! Just completed the 81st brawl with my awesome guild, which is none other than Pizza 2 The Deep Dish!

  • Fun In The Discord Chats

Really appreciated the interaction in the Discord chats within the Pizza guilds. During the preparation phase, there's a lot of information sharing and discussion on who to fill each fray. During the brawls, there were reminders to members to complete their brawl battles. And after the brawls, there were celebratory messages and some members (including me) would write about our experience in the brawls. Aside from brawls, I thought the donations were also very well organised and tabulated, with lucky draws to incentivise donors as well.

  • Staying In Bronze Fray

For this brawl, I decided to stick to what I fought in the last fray, which was Fray 6, which was 3/2/2/1. I felt I was starting to find my grove and this fray is neither too difficult nor too easy for me.

Had 8 battles this time and it was not an easy round, especially when they have recently introduced 3 rulesets for each battle. Moreover, I have rented out most of my cards because I was playing lesser these days.

  • We Got 4th

So for the final result, we were 4th out of 10 guilds and got 808 Merits and around 10 SPS! Even though we ended 4th because the top 3 had more battles, it was awesome that everyone submitted their teams this time!

Individually, I had 8 fights this time and I won 7 of them this time! Finished 5th within the guild.

Let's jump into the battles!

Battle 1 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Relenor Cleaver and Isgald Vorst

Went in with a full Melee team led by Demented Shark and two Gladius powerhouses. Not sure why my opponent opted to use 4 Magic cards in this Magic Reflect battle. Comfortable win in this one as Isgald Vorst wrecked havoc in my opponent's backline.

Battle 2 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

In Magic battles, not many can challenge the Bortus/Djinn Oshannus combination because it effectively shuts out any Magic damage that is 2 or below. My opponent couldn't get through my tank and it was another comfortable win from my Water lineup.

Battle 3 - LOSE

Gladius Card Used: Helmet Kharafax

Debut for Helmet Kharafax but didn't end well. It was tough to come up with a lineup for this ruleset and my Magic lineup was undone by two opposing cards with Void. My damage output suffered and my lineup was taken down faster in this one.

Battle 4 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Kotriphus Bayne

This battle was a turnaround - I almost lost this one. My lineup had lower damage output and struck out one by one in quick time. However, the Poison soon caught up with everyone and my Riftwing's HP was boosted by all the Scavenge and outsurvived my opponent. Rare MVP for Riftwing!

Battle 5 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Orella Abadon

This was a brutal battle, with Poison and Blast. Forgotten One sealed the easy win in this one with Immunity. Not sure why players don't use Forgotten One these days.

Battle 6 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Cutter Brieze

Ranged only lineups are always a test of the depth of one's card collection. Fortunately, I had more depth in my card collection and Fernheart is one of the top summoners for such battles. Lost count of the number of battles won by Fernheart in this ruleset.

Battle 7 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: Trapp Falloway

Little League and Melee Mayhem combination is definitely made for Trapp Falloway. With almost identical lineups from both teams, it was Trapp Falloway that made the difference and it turned out be a much easier win than expected.

Battle 8 - WIN

Gladius Card Used: None

My Water lineups usually bring home the wins but this was a tough one. The timing of the hits were somehow badly timed and it allowed the opposing healer to undo the damage. In the end, it was Axemaster who painstakingly clearing most of the opposing lineup. Almost a one card show here.

So that sums up my 8 battles for this brawl! 88% win rate, good enough for me!

Review Of Gladius Cards

The Merits are coming in fast and I have enough Merits for my 37th Gladius case! Nothing much to see here, just a normal pack of stuff. That's my 5th Alfredo so Level 2 it goes! Also my 5th Sarius so Level 2 it goes!
