Welcome to Misadventures in Praetoria, a casual accounting of my various experiences and love-hate relationship with this game called Splinterlands.

The Vruz card sale finally went live and I managed to buy one using a voucher as I have over a thousand SPS staked to my account. I also bought another copy using the spare DEC I have for around half a dollar.

Vruz is a nice addition to the card roster. With it coming to modern, I can finally have a Martyr card available for both Odd Ones Out and Even Stevens rule sets.

Vruz is actually better than good, I think it's a must have for most matches. Having Sneak while unlocking the Martyr ability at silver level, you can strategically position it between two other monsters. And it can conveniently die from Poison, Earthquake, Snipe, Sneak and now with Thorns as well.

It's also funny how Vruz sounds like virus as it might as well be one since I'm going to be sick trying to level it up to even just the silver level. At the current price of around 50 cents, it would cost me about $30 to unlock the Martyr ability. It would cost another $170 if I ever dream of having a maxed copy. And it might even be undervalued at current prices since Vruz's game utility is not yet fully realized.

I feel like having Vruz at common rarity is an oversight on Uncle Aggy's part. Staking a thousand SPS is already a $30 barrier that not many players have the means to acquire. If Vruz was released with at least a rarity of rare, it would take just a fourth of cards to max out and more supply will be available in the market. The cost would also be not as high, in my opinion.
