Hello to all the members of this community! Today I come to show you the procedure of a figure that I made to participate in the wonderful art contest of the community from Splinterlands. For this I chose a card called Gelatinous Cube, a creature that eats and disintegrates everything in its path hehe This one was the result obtained:

When choosing a character, I like to look through the cards until one catches my attention, not so much because of its design, since they all have their appeal; Rather, I let myself be carried away by the idea that arises in my mind after seeing the character and in the case of the Gelatinous Cube, a way of manufacturing it arose in my mind that I wanted to try.

Gelatinous Cube

In order to make this peculiar monster, it occurred to me to use some recycling materials that I had available such as: Paper, acetate sheets and plastic bags. So I put hands to work. The first thing I did was make the cube, creating the pattern on paper and then transferring it to the acetate sheet.

The next part was to draw the pieces of some poor victim that had been digested by the cube. With a fine tip marker and some wooden crayons, I obtained them and cut them out very carefully.

Then, I placed these pieces in the cube by gluing them with white glue to each of the side faces of the piece.

What followed was to obtain the effect of the composition and color of the cube. For this, it occurred to me to use a green plastic bag. I opened it and glued it with hot silicone on the inside of the cube. Then I closed the bucket, ensuring that the excess bag remained inside the piece and sealing it with the hot silicone. At this point I was excited, because I really liked how it looked.

To finish, I added a few more pieces of bag on the edges, to simulate relief on the cube and I glued the figure on a white bag, which I gathered around thanks to the silicone.

I really liked the result and in my opinion, it turned out better than I had imagined. I hope to be able to make different pieces of this style.

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad! Hoy vengo a mostrarles el procedimiento de una figura que realicé para participar en el maravilloso concurso de arte de la comunidad de Splinterlands. Para ello escogí una carta llamada Cubo Gelatinoso , una criatura que se come y desintegra todo a su paso jeje Éste fue el resultado obtenido:

A la hora de la escogencia del personaje, me gusta revisar entre las cartas hasta que alguna me llama la atención, no tanto por su diseño, ya que todas tienen su atractivo; más bien me dejo llevar por la idea que surge en mi mente luego de ver el personaje y en el caso del Cubo Gelatinoso, surgió en mi mente, una forma de fabricarlo que quería intentar.

Para poder fabricar éste monstruo tan peculiar, se me ocurrió utilizar algunos materiales de reciclaje que tenía a disposición como: Papel, láminas de acetato y bolsas de plástico. Así que, me puse manos a la obra. Lo primero que hice, fue realizar el cubo, elaborando el patrón en papel y luego, trasladando el mismo a la lámina de acetato.

La siguiente parte fue dibujar los trozos de alguna pobre victima que hubiese sido digerida por el cubo. Con un marcador punta fina y unos crayones de madera, las obtuve y recorté con mucho cuidado.

Luego, ubiqué estas piezas en el cubo pegándolas con pegamento blanco en cada una de las caras laterales de la pieza.

Lo que prosiguió fue obtener el efecto de la composición y color del cubo. Para ello, se me ocurrió utilizar una bolsa plástica de color verde. La abrí y pegué con silicón caliente sobre la parte interna del cubo. Después cerré el cubo, procurando que el exceso de bolsa quedase dentro de la pieza y sellando con el silicón caliente. Ya en éste punto estaba emocionada, porque me gustaba mucho cómo lucía.

Para finalizar, agregué unos pedazos más de bolsa en los bordes, para simular relieve en el cubo y pegué la figura sobre una bolsa de color blanco, la cual fruncí alrededor gracias al silicón.

Me gustó mucho el resultado y a mi parecer, quedó mejor de lo que hubiera imaginado. Espero poder realizar diferentes piezas de éste estilo.
