I don't know about the technicals of these (edit) downvotes (automated? constant updates?), but imagine the psychology of having to rate what is overvalued in something that i believe it is measured mostly (asking in the code?) in HIVE not $'s ? (50/50 hbd but the low posts get more hive?), even if it was 50% and with the constant fluctuations of price now you get 10 hive / 100$ next week you get 10 hive / 1000$ or reverse, how do you keep a stable criteria ? That also intrigues me.

In those 7 days must be a mindfuck for these people, and the next going to be different, everytime.

Absurd amounts of DV power (going below zero, either rewards or reputation.
Why not just downvote with less power, at least it gives some sort of message or opinion wich MIGHT be productive instead of "complete destruction" of a post / account. But all there is now is destruction. Only with more active users will this settle down a bit either voting up or down, before any changes that are being discussed elegantly by you coders, in theory it could work with active users (maybe), but not every user that posts uses downvotes or upvotes (or vice versa), might be growing pains... and also there was the ninja mine i guess it didn't help.

Most destructive downvotes (removing big value from valid accounts / curators) seem to be following an agenda which is basically anti alternative and independent media and journalists, and that is also not hard to see, and that i guess is history being written in the blockchain.

There can be a technical discussion and what might seem justification, but i'm seeing it as destroy here, deliver there, and i'm not mentioning or quoting bad posts of the trending page because i think there is no such thing as an overvalued post, but i agree with that OPINION (edit) (of the state of the trending), i wouldn't use my millions of HP to DV them like that.

PS: i remember in the first days of steemit people would be like WOAH who downvoted me 0.01c !? What is happening ? And now most users can go about their lives and understand the errors or infrigement when that is the case (small downvotes), except now when the slider goes brrrr: annnnnd it's gone.
