Feedback from the January Hive Power Up Day

(Edited)

Once again, we were surprised by the enthusiasm and participation rate in this first edition of the year 2022 of the Hive Power Up Day.

While we thought everyone would be busy partying with their friends and relatives to celebrate the change of year, it was with astonishment and pleasure that we saw that several records had been broken.

We are delighted to see the enthusiasm around this initiative, which testifies to the excellent health of our platform and the confidence and investment of the members of our community.

The First Power Up Month of the year is underway and remember you can earn one more Power Up Helper badge.

A few words from the PUD organizers

@traciyork

I'm sure I'm not the only person who has been watching the Hive price closely, noticing as it dips lower and lower (in keeping with the cryptosphere in general). However, I'm probably one of the few who was excited at the opportunity to buy some more and continue to build my account. And regardless of whether you bought or earned, it seemed I had lots of company powering up that Hive!

Because this Power Up Day fell on a holiday, I actually didn't have the chance to scroll my feeds (Hive and Twitter) as much as usual, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm pretty confident that we at least matched the participation from last month, and there's a pretty good possibility that we hit another ATH or two. Knowing how passionate and committed the Hive community is somehow makes it easier to ride this bear market out, as it means (to me) there are great things in store for us!

(not financial advise...lol)

As always, a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on the blockchain, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day, and for continuing to add to the blockchain fun. And here's to all the Hiveans, new and old, who continue to increase their voting power and influence on the blockchain - congratulations to you all!
And I hope you and your family had a wonderful & healthy New Year. 🎉 🥂

What are the PUD stats for this month?

As usual, let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers, as those are the ones who deserve the most attention.

We have 21 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 24 people to get their PUD badge.

Special kudos to those who helped several accounts: @reiseamateur (2), @pinkchic (2) and @yoieuqudniram (2).

Together, the helpers gifted 493.400 HIVE!

Here is the complete list of helpers and their donations:
@leprechaun (200), @flemingfarm (40), @nexo.token (38.05), @reiseamateur (22), @pinkchic (20), @yoieuqudniram (20), @traciyork (13.33), @yisusth (10.01), @amigoponc (10), @digi-me (10), @eliezerfloyd (10), @growandbow (10), @ifarmgirl (10), @jam728 (10), @mightpossibly (10), @shahzad-ansari (10), @silversaver888 (10), @slothbuzz (10), @stdd (10), @tampilyne (10) and @wittyzell (10).

A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.

As you know, the Power Up Helper badge is now a yearly thing, so we have reset our counter. Here is the list of benefactors who got the so coveted Power Up Helper badge for 2023:

Congratulations to @reiseamateur (2), @pinkchic (2), @yoieuqudniram (2), @leprechaun, @flemingfarm, @nexo.token, @traciyork, @yisusth, @amigoponc, @digi-me, @eliezerfloyd, @growandbow, @ifarmgirl, @jam728, @mightpossibly, @shahzad-ansari, @silversaver888, @slothbuzz, @stdd, @tampilyne, @wittyzell.
(List by number of helpees)

This brings the number of helpers for this year to 21 users.

Remember that the number of people you are helping will significantly influence the delegation we will do to you.

Let's now take a look at how you did against the previous editions:

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, we had 585 participants who powered up 124876 HIVE. We broke the previous month's record of 552 participants. Despite the bear market, it now seems that the Hive Power Up Day has become a habit for everyone. We can't wait to see when we reach a thousand participants.

Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:

Congrats to @brittandjosie (12891,702), @sagarkothari88 (6579,737), @ecency (6000), @steevc (4000), @omonomo (3636,004), @zuerich (3545,017), @slhp (3065,459), @niallon11 (2997,081), @misterc (2870), @reiseamateur (2701), @walterjay (2600), @dbooster (2500), @woelfchen (2038,445), @damla (1905,181), @steemflow (1700), @gorayii (1504,221), @grindan (1269), @ace108 (1234,567), @lighteye (1215), @jerrytsuseer (1096,441), @jychbetter (1070), @ph1102 (1004,411), @tobetada (1000,719), @sayee (1000), @buynano (1000), @namelessnameless (1000), @solymi (1000), @numasi (1000), @igormuba (1000), @sjarvie5 (1000), @primersion (1000), @uwelang (1000) and @stayoutoftherz (1000).

They powered up at least 1000 HIVE and got the Jumbo-Bee badge.

Power Up Month is underway!

Don't forget that the Power Up Month challenge now takes place every month.

If you participated in the Power Up Day, you are automatically "registered" for the PUM and can be rewarded with a delegation of Hive Power at the end of it if you pass the challenge.

Have a Happy New Year and see you on February 1st for the next PUD!

This year I decided to take part in every power up months but On the second day of Year I forgot to power up😅. I think in recent times I am forgetting many things. I am hopeful that in the upcoming month, I will be able to do it.

Thanks to those people who help others.

Can you double-check what I have missed?
I supported two accounts. Here is the missing one:

Hello @growandbow,
Your power-up for @llunasouls does not count for the PUH badge because you had already made a power-up towards it on 2022-11-01 06:06:03
As mentioned in the PUH rules: "The helpee must NOT have been previously powered-up by another account, i.e. it must be the first time it receives a power-up from someone else."

Thank you for your feedback and clarification. And I see I did not understand that rule.
That rule is smart. Makes sense in the way of helping more people.

Hi @hivebuzz
I made a HP delegation to photowanze but I'm not in the helpers' list : can you explain me why?

Thanks

Hello @dawnoner,
As mentioned in the PUH rules: "The helpee must NOT have been previously powered-up by another account, i.e. it must be the first time it receives a power-up from someone else."
@photowanze already received a power-up from @curie on 2020-02-20 18:39:39, hence why your power-up didn't count for the PUH badge.

Hello, my virtual friends @hivebuzz. Thanks for the mention. Hard work you have been doing. Friends, I have a concern: since January 1st I have been posting 100% Power Up, but I notice that the counter has remained at zero, could you please tell me where I have been going wrong. Thanks in advance. Have a wonderful 2023, full of blessings.

Another wonderful power-up day! Thank you for compiling these exciting stats for us !LUV !PIZZA

I feel weird mentioning this, because I didn't do it for acknowledgement... but I feel I should mention it, as there may be a system glitch: I powered up another account as well. I'm curious about the structure now.

This will also help settle a debate lol. I was able to get the helper bee badge in December by powering up an account that had been powered up in a previous month. This month, I did the same account (no one else powered her up this month) but it didn't count.

Web capture_3-1-2023_133524_peakd.com.jpeg

Now I wonder if it was a mistake that I got the bee last month, or a glitch that I didn't get it this month 🤣 For reference, she had the "no bee" symbol both times.

Hello @grindan, thank you for your feedback.

You indeed made a power-up to @balikis95 on 2022-12-01 20:25:27, hence why you received your PUH badge on 2022
A second power-up to the same account is not valid for the PUH badge. The rule you mentioned does not apply per year, it is global!
The "no-bee" symbol appears as soon as the account has made or received a power-up.

Excellent results, I am pleased to know that other people like me continue to trust Hive, every month the word spreads and we will surely continue to grow in this initiative. Health and success.

I actually powered up another account, but can't see my name there. So am not sure if it was successful 😅..

Sorry for the late reply.
You indeed made a power-up to @fantagira, but they already did a power-up on 2022-12-01 which made them no longer eligible for the PUH badge.
There are still 11 possibilities to obtain the badge and we advise you to check if the account is eligible before your power up.
