This is a step by step guide for new splinter seekers outlined as follows:

A.Secure your account keys!

1. Open your splinterlands account.
2. Click on your name at the upper right portion.
3. Select Request Account Keys.
4. Click the link in your email.
   (I got mine from [email protected] sending a link to splinterlands.com NOT splinter"s"land.com or any other links)
5. Copy it in a text file or save it in your wallet.

B. Setting Up Hive Keychain for Automatic Transactions

1. Open Hive Keychain
2. Add extension and set to read data when clicked.

1. Use your name and posting key as 1 click confirmation for any transaction in any Hive-enabled application: Hive Blog, Splinterlands, Splintertalk, etc.

C. Game Familiarization!

1. Go to your splinterlands account -> select cards on the upper left portion -> select playable -> highlight role of monsters as seen below.

1. There are around 8/15 common fire monsters and 6/11 rare fire monsters at the beginning to play with. (0/7 Epic, 0/6 Legendary)
2. Hover your mouse to see each skills of the monsters.
3. Change Playable to All Cards to see other monsters not in the deck.
4. There are duplicate cards or "editions" of some cards which affects the %dec you receive after winning. (Older/Pristine version of cards -> higher dec after winning)
5. Change the Role to Summoner and Remove the Rarity to check your summoners
6. The skills of the your selected summoner will be reflected to your monsters so strategize wisely. Use Malric for Melee/short range monsters to deal heavy damage, use Pyre if you want early attacks to kill 1 monster and have an early game advantage.
   
7. For now, I want you to prioritise learning about the physical fire and magic water elements to see how they interact in battle.

D. Peakmonsters Sign Up and Rentals

1. Open Peakmonsters

2. Sign in using your Posting Key / Hive extension.

3. Go to Rentals Tab and click on the following filter setting.
   

4. In Peakmonsters, there are other stronger monsters which can be rented at a higher rate of 50+ dec/day but as a starter, I would recommend you only rent level 1 monsters of < 1 dec/day rental fee to familiarize their skills and strategies. (Try to switch to summoners filter and click on the costly cards to see their overwhelming power)

5. You will only be getting minimum of <1 dec/game so I will help you with the initial renting of cards for familiarization until you have your own style of playing. You can earn around 20+ in silver, 40+ in gold, 80+ in diamond depending on the edition of the cards.

6. I recommend renting all missing common and rare card for water and fire then some of the epic and legendaries if you have the dec.
