Splinterlands Card Giveaway

Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for almost two years, so new players can only get them in the market. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

Last week's prize was this Highland Archer card.

This Week's Giveaway

I am happy to announce that the card for this week's Blast From The Past Giveaway is an out-of-print, original Reward Edition Rusty Android.

The Rusty Android was one of the first monsters introduced as part of the original set of Reward Edition cards. When he was released there were only a couple monsters with the Magic Reflect ability so this Neutral card was the only way to add that ability to most Splinters. But as was often the case with the first release common cards, there was soon an oversupply and the value of the card plummeted to almost $0.00. Not surprisingly these cards were often burned for their DEC value which was more than their market value.

Since these cards have been out of print for a while they have risen in price significantly. The cheapest Level 1 Rusty Android card is currently $0.12 on the Splinterlands market. That means it is worth over eight times the 15 DEC you would get from burning the card. I'm glad I kept my Rusty Android cards safe and didn't burn any of them.

If you are just starting out and haven't been able to add a Rusty Android to your deck, then you should get in on this giveaway. The Rusty Android card will be sent to one lucky winner when this contest closes at post payout time.

If this Rusty Android card doesn't fit into your master plan for Splinterlands domination, or if you lack the skill to achieve victory with it, you can always send it to the burn chamber and extract the 15 Dark Energy Crystals locked within, but you'd be much better off trying to sell it in the market or rent it out and gain a steady income.
