Hello bloggers happy start of the week, today I bring a new fan art for the @splinterlands art contest, in the last weeks I have been tempted to join two characters in a fanart as my friends have done, and finally I dared to do it. I thought very well in which characters was good to combine and it had to be a powerful duo, that when joining their abilities would be invincible, so I joined the relentless MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE and the floating creature CORNEALUS so as always I tell you how it was to make them and as always the step by step, let's go there.

Hola blogueros feliz inicio de semana, el día de hoy traigo un nuevo fan art para el concurso de arte de @splinterlands, en las ultimas semanas me he visto tentado a unir dos personajes en un fanart como lo ha hecho mis amigos, y al fin me he atrevido a hacerlo. Pensé muy bien en que personajes era bueno combinar y debía ser un dúo poderoso, que al unir sus habilidades fueran invencibles, así que uní a la implacable MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE y la criatura flotante CORNEALUS así que como siempre te cuento que tal fue hacerlos y como siempre el paso paso, vamos allá.

⚪ Process/ Proceso

Maybe one of the most time consuming sketches I've done, for the idea and the sketch phase as such it took me about 3 hours but I think this time it deserved all the time I invested, maybe you can't see it but I had to erase several times because I didn't like the pose or because something was out of proportion XD, another thing that influenced in choosing these two characters was that both are dark and in terms of color they have a very similar palette so it was perfect, everything fit well.

Tal vez uno de los bocetos mas tardados que he hecho, para la idea y la fase del boceto como tal me demore unas 3 horas pero creo que esta vez merecía todo el tiempo que le invertí, quizá no se vea pero si me toco borrar varias veces porque no me gustaba la pose o porque algo estaba fuera de proporción XD, otra cosa que influyo en elegir estos dos personajes fue que ambos son oscuros y en cuanto color tienen una paleta muy parecida así que estaba perfecto todo encajaba bien.

As I said before these two characters have a very similar color palette and taking advantage that the last few days I have been practicing cold tones, it was an excellent opportunity to continue doing it, as always I made some variations to the color of the original character for more vivid colors, but still not so saturated, and I was careful with the colors because it is easy to mess up these tones when they are so similar and belong to the same group. so I was testing colors and was changing to know when they combined.

Como ya dije antes estos dos personajes tienen una paleta de color muy parecida y aprovechando que los últimos días he venido practicando los tonos fríos, fue una excelente oportunidad para seguir haciéndolo, como siempre hice algunas variaciones al color del personaje original por unos colores mas vivos, pero igual que no fueran tan saturados, y fui cuidadoso con los colores porque es fácil desordenar estos tonos cuando son tan parecidos y pertenecen al mismo grupo. así que iba probando colores e iba cambiando para saber cuando combinaban.

I always like to analyze what was the most difficult part of the drawing, and this time I have come to the conclusion that it was knowing what tones to put on his suit because his cape and suit are practically the same, so I had to vary them and make them look more different between blue and violet colors.

Siempre me gusta analizar que fue lo que mas costo de hacer el dibujo, y esta vez he llegado a la conclusión que fue el saber que tonos colocarles a su traje porque su capa y el traje son tonos prácticamente iguales, así que tuve que variarlos y hacerlos parecer mas distintos entre colores azules y violetas.

I had never drawn retinas a little more realistic so drawing CORNEALUS meant looking for tutorials and seeing pictures of real retinas to know how the strokes were, since this is 90% of the character, despite that I really liked to do it because CORNEALUS is such a simple character but at the same time has very striking colors and shape, in this part I was making the transition a little softer to the blues, and so I also incorporated CORNEALUS in a scepter. I imagined MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE using his dark powers to take over this great sphere, so I captured him and imprisoned him in his new scepter to be his helper forever (or at least until he finds a way to free himself), with this power now MIMOSA is indestructible.

Nunca había dibujado retinas un poco mas realistas así que dibujar a CORNEALUS significó buscar tutoriales y ver fotos de retinas reales para saber cómo eran los trazos, ya que este el es 90% del personaje, a pesar de eso me ha gustado mucho hacerlo porque CORNEALUS es un personaje tan simple pero a su vez tiene colores y una forma muy llamativa, en esta parte fui haciendo la transición un poco mas suave a los azules, y por ello también incorporé a CORNEALUS en un cetro. Imaginé a MIMOSA NIGHTSHADE usando su poderes oscuros para apoderase de esta gran esfera, así que lo capturo y lo encarcelo en su nuevo cetro para ser su ayudante por siempre( o al menos hasta que encuentre la manera de liberarse) , con este poder ahora MIMOSA es indestructible.

There are two things I love to do in a character, one would be the scepters and the second thing I love is that they have some kind of ancient rune or some Vortex, this time I have added to this fan art a more elaborate background because I think it is worth it, I have created a Vortex where MIMOSA has all her power along with ancient runes that only she is able to read, for this background I gave blue tones so that the character would shine thanks to it and also served as a backlight because this time I only added one and not two as I usually do. Definitely this is my favorite fan art made by me so far, what do you think? let me know your opinion.

Hay dos cosas que amo hacer en un personaje, uno serian los cetros y lo segundo que amo es que tengan alguna especie de runa antigua o algún Vortex, esta vez he sumado a este fan art un fondo mas elaborado ya que pienso que vale mucho la pena, he creado un Vortex donde MIMOSA alberga todo su poder junto con runas antiguas que solo ella es capaz de leer, para este fondo di tonos azules para que el personaje destara gracias a ello y sirvió también de contraluz ya que esta vez solo agregue una y no dos como suelo hacerlo. Definitivamente este es mi fan art preferido hecho por mi hasta ahora. ¿Qué te ha parecido? déjame saber tu opinión.
