Nate Aguila, Art and Chaos Legion!
@nateaguila has done such an amazing job spearheading the Splinterlands Chaos lore, NFT art work and especially by working with community members from Hive to further add value to Splinterlands! The above video was a collaboration with @abrockman, @nateaguila and a very talented voice over actor. This video was released the day of the Chaos Legion pack release. It inspired me to write this post highlighting Nate's hard work after seeing him almost shed a few tears of joy during the Release of Chaos Legion on the Live Stream for Splinterlands. He deserves a lot of praise and further support as he will continue to propel Splinterlands, Splinterlore and most importantly the Hive community to the next level!
Splinterlore
@dynamicrypto has a proposal on Splintertalk.io that aims create a Splinterlands Movie & Animated Series. I told him to chill cause it looks like the team is well on it's to doing as much when you look at what is happening with Splinterlore. There is a lot of character development, Maps and truly a well written story line for all of the Splinterlands Universe. I am confident that this is just the start of a very very big thing.

At any rate, I got goosebumps reading about the Water Splinter people. I knew instantly after reading up on them that these were my people indeed. The idea of building up a tribe of like minded rebellious people who will stand up against tyranny while providing refuge to it's victims, brings me strength just thinking about it.
The story of Mokar made my eyes water. It is truly a story someone like myself or anyone who has lost a loved one, such as your father, can easily relate to. Left with no one but the Great Beyond to provide you with the solutions to life's unfair dilemmas...
The story lines for Splinterlore are pretty powerful and in-depth. Now that the team unleashed Chaos onto the Hive blockchain quite successfully, I am excited to see where and how Nate will further evolve Splinterlore in conjunction with the Splintertalk.io NFTs, that tie all the lore together.
Creative Updates:
- Phase 2 of CL sale will include new stories
- Tome of Chaos tales are a prequel to the book
- First story should be released on Wednesday, December 8th
- Will include more art, more NFT's, more goodness
- New stories will depict life outside of Praetoria and how Chaos is spreading

Splintertalk.io NFTs
While, these NFTs do not have any use cases yet, two key things happened here with these NFTs that caught my eye.
@nateaguila and his team decided to allow Artists from The Hive Blockchain, who have won the weekly art contests conducted by the official Splinterlands account each week, to mint NFTs on the Splintertalk.io platform! These are ones I find particularly valuable.

Secondly, I felt Nate's positive and heartfelt emotion on the night of the Chaos release live stream event. You have to watch the whole thing to catch this moment. Though if I recall right it was somewhere in the beginning of stream.
Recently, I went in hard on investing into Splinterlands cards. I wanted to rank to diamond each season, acquire collection points and own some history. Without going too much into that journey, I wanted to point out I spent a lot of time staring at the past versions of the Splinterlands cards from Untamed art to Beta, Dice and Promo cards from past editions to even getting card skins. The art, I always found very nice but Nate and his team really took the card art for Chaos Legion to a whole new level. Every single card is visually appealing and fun to look at. Except for QUEEN MYCELIA she is a bit creepy but still well drawn and designed. Here is a look at the card for her and some lore from the Splinterlands website!
QUEEN MYCELIA
A dark and dank estate was overseen by a fearsome noble woman. She craved ever more and more, and had her slaves dig deep into the mountains that bordered her home. Seeking riches within the depths. But when no riches emerged, she became fierce and violent. Demanding harder and harder work. And the slaves dug more. And within the depths of the mountains, they unearthed a horror beyond their comprehension.
The first happening was the growth turning on the manor. Food became poisoned. Vines blocked doors and obscured windows. And spores sprouted everywhere.
Then the slaves became corrupted. Their bodies turned into hosts for parasitic fungus. Long after they died, their bodies shambled around the grounds. It was a menace that could not be controlled.
As the woman's estate fell into chaos, she couldn't bear the shame of seeking help from outsiders. Instead, she went into the mountains herself to uncover the source of this horror that had ruined her.
And there she came across her. At that time, Queen Mycelia was more a collection of fungus in a loose physical form. But when she consumed the noble woman, she altered her own appearance to look like a fearsome female in a gown.
She continued to spread her corruption across the estate. She'd never experienced such growth and such control before. Realizing she could now extend her powers even further and turn more creatures into her slaves, she traveled.
She corrupted each land she crossed, claiming the plants, claiming the people, and leaving behind a trail of fungal rot. She walked both above the earth and below, a female figure in the fog. But any that got too close realized terrors beyond their comprehension.
And finally, her journeys brought Queen Mycelia to the Realm of Silence under Praetoria. Praetoria's trees and roots stretched far down here, she could call out to so many servants. The whole continent could be hers. But why stop there? The Chaos Legion had means to reach even further. One day, the entire Splinterlands would be under her control.

Those who walk in her domain, take their last breath.
And all will worship the Queen of Fungus and Death.”

Of course being apart of The City of Neoxian on Element.io whose Splinterlands players happen to be some of the most feared and well respected players in all of Splinterlands, I had to ask their fearless leader @neoxian which card art from the new Chaos Legion Card set he liked the most.
Mr. D likes big dragons and it came as no surprise he picked the Gold CHAOS DRAGON. So lets check this beauty out!
CHAOS DRAGON
The Chaos Realm has preyed upon many a world, opening rifts in time and space to invade the lands and take from its people. When they attacked Praetoria and the Splinterlands, it was first thought that the minions were compelled through the portal for their fear of the dark shade that lurked beyond the gate, the shadowed image of Uul. Eventually though, when the last of the armies stepped through, there came such a prodigious monster that at first, none could believe it was real. A nightmare dragged forth into reality.
As it flew through the spinning vortex, the Chaos Dragon let forth a violent shriek, so loud that it was felt in the far reaches of every Splinter. The people of Praetoria fell to their knees, terror taking the strength from their legs and the courage from their hearts. For an army of monsters can be fought, the land defended with righteous fervor. But when even the invading hordes are fleeing before such a beast, what hope can there be? The answer is none when the eater of worlds has arrived, the true devourer of existence.
Surely such a thing couldn’t be the puppet of Uul? How could anyone command a creature that has flown from one cosmos to another, feeding upon alien planets? But it was his most potent being, one that existed before time had conceived the very gift of life itself.
Lord General Reinold, of the order of the Silver Shield, sat astride his warhorse and looked out across the vast plains of Ixzoc. Lined formations of warriors stretched as far as the eye could see, from right to left, their tall pikes reaching up to the sky, threatening the sun with sharp spikes. Behind them were great square phalanxes of paladins standing to attention, their cloaks brushing against highly polished plate armour as they waved in the breeze. To either side were his knights, gilded lances pointed to the heavens adorned with pennants denoting the Order of the Shield.
Reinold thought back to their journey from Khymeria to Praetoria. It had taken weeks for the nation's admiralty to sail the army here and now they’d arrived he was unsure of where to go. ‘Close the chaos rift’ the council had instructed, ‘stop the creeping plague’, but this land was so alien from anything he’d ever seen. Aside from the small port at Blue Harbour, they’d not come across any great cities.
His attention was taken as a cloud passed before the sun…no wait, not a cloud. What could be so vast that it could blot the sun from the sky? He lifted his head and looked to where the shape moved. Jagged spikes jutted from the body and head, pointing in all angles before continuing along the back and onto the spine of its long tail that flicked at the air like a serpents forked tongue. The wings were so vast that Reinold swore they could envelope the entire continent in darkness if the creature wished it, or raise an immense hurricane if it were to beat them hard enough. Dark pearlescent scales warped from purples and blacks, to a sickening blood red that made his vision swim. And then it was gone.
The next he knew, a decaying blast of necrotic energy swept across the entire army. Plate armor instantly dissolved in the caustic discharge, skin and flesh bubbling beneath before putrefying into liquid filth. Not a soul was left standing, not one single soldier. Reinold looked down at his own body, a shimmer of white light about him, a persistent and repulsive purple haze pressing in on all sides. There was movement beside him and a cloaked figure stumbled forward into view.
“My Lord, I can’t hold this shield for much longer.”
Reinold felt his skin prickle beneath the relentless weight of chaos. “High Priest Lehin,” he coughed, his throat itching with an acidic burn. “Flee...save yourself. Someone must warn Khymeria.”
Then darkness took him and all was lost.

It's a great spotlight on the creative team's efforts. And I definitely emphasize the word "TEAM", since it takes lots of amazing people to make the world of Splinterlands come alive. And we're just getting started!
Oh yeah, I know but you most def. executed the vision in a beautiful yet smooth way. Truly, something this spectacular could not had been accomplished if such skilled and talented people did not believe in your vision. You deserve all the success coming your way and to enjoy the culmination of all the hard and sacrifice this week.
