PIZZA Guild Brawl Report #14 - Are You Not Entertained? Is This Not Why You Are Here?

This Brawl Report, I wanna take a quick look at the newest Ruleset to hit Splinterlands:

Are You Not Entertained?

This is gonna be a interesting one. Like the ability Conscript, this will allow you to play a Gladiator card in you lineup. The difference now is you get to play it with any Summoner you'd like, just like in a Brawl. Wanna boost Quora with Obisidian's +1 Magic, be my guest. Or you can match Chimney Wallstop with Tarsa for that +1 Melee and +1 HP.

Where this gets interesting is when you combine it with one of the Soulbound Summoners with Conscript. In these instances, you can now play 2 Gladiator cards in a single battle! Not enough for you? Then if this ruleset pops up during a Brawl, play your Soulbound Conscript user and play 3 Gladiator Cards!!!! I'm looking forward to sharing that Brawl report with everyone, if I ever get chance.

Now let's get to the brawls...

Battle #1 - Win
Ruleset - Healed Out / Heavy Hitters / Holy Protection

Although the cards were different, the feel of this fight was very similar, using magic to try and quickly get through each other's defenses. I just happened to bring more magic fire power to the fight. Uloth Dhampir also was added because of his Stun ability which plays into the Heavy Hitters Ruleset. Any monster Uloth stuns would be open to double damage because everyone gets the knockout ability. This fight was over in 5 rounds.

Battle #2 - Win
Ruleset - Even Stevens

This one was interesting because only Even mana monsters could be used in a very low 15 mana fight. On top of that, the only option we had to play with was Death Splinters. I went with Astral Entity incase they brought out an armored Shield monster like Harklaw, then Dodge would keep my few monsters alive longer, and Resurrect again gives me just a little more longevity when there are so few monsters out on the field. The didn't play Harklaw, but Ravenwood Warden's Armon was negated. Dodge worked out as expected, providing 2 misses. Then the Cursed Windeku's knocked each other out with Thorns, but my resurrect brings mine back. That leaves Ravenwood Warden as my opponents last monster, who can't do anything with ranged in the tank position. This is done by Round 4.

Battle #3 - Loss
Ruleset - Stampede / Melee Mayhem / Fog of War

My opponent's Disintegrator lowering my Melee attack and Thaddeus Brood lowering my Magic attack was the real difference maker here. I really couldn't get any momentum going in this one. It was all over in 3 Rounds

Battle #4 - Win
Ruleset - Counterspell

An all out Pizza Guild Civil War in this one. My friend @cogie88 is an incredible player placing near the top of the Gold League leaderboard the past couple of season, so I was lucky to pull off the win here. It didn't start off so great. My Lava Spider was taken out immediately and Chimney Wallstop was down to 1HP before doing his Bloodlust thing. If Orella Abadon would have attack 2nd instead of Tenyii Striker, his own Bloodlust would have completely changed how this match played out. I was able to squeeze out a victory here in the 7th Round

Battle #5 - Win
Ruleset - Armored Up / Weak Magic / Even Stevens

Weirding Warrior and Astral Entity are by far the heroes of this matchup up. First Weirding Warrior with Shatter takes care of whatever remaining Shields are out on the field, and Djinn Chwala and Chimney Wallstop are very well armored. Then Astral Entities Dodge came in clutch several times in this one helping me avoid a deadly blow. After I get passed Chimney Wallstop, it's smooth sailing to a Round 5 victory.

I'm extremely happy with finishing 4-1. I'm still getting a feel for the Gold Foil fray just because my options are limited, but that's part of what makes this game fun. Challenge yourself and see just how far you can go.
