Ramblings and a giveaway

After the little turmoil with Splinterlands last post about the reorganizations, it was time to focus again on the battlefield!

I did a little experiment last season that I wanted to do for some time, which was to gather gold season chests (instead of the usual diamond ones), and see if the increased number of chests would offset the losses for not climbing to Diamond league. Well, maybe not that great of a luck in season ending... but not that convinced it is the right move.

Can't complain about the 3 packs, but only 31 SPS in a season ending, together with the smaller card multiplier in gold league vs diamond league, makes me think we should just go as higher as we can, league wise.

As for how fast should we climb... well, I still have some doubts there: climbing fast means gathering diamond chests, but the at the likely expense of less chests per day. Easier to collect daily chests in gold, but again: smaller multiplier on cards and less sps!

I've reached diamond league again last season, and will gather diamond chests again. Probably won't be the best season to compare, since I'm away from home for a few days, so decided to rent my cards for a few days; less playtime in the season means less chests! But still curious how will it compare with the previous season. Guess I'll have to play extra hard as soon as my cards are back to make up for the lost time!

I found an answer to the Diamond VS Gold chests dilemma, according to https://splex.gg/tools/chest the average value of a Diamond chest is twice the value of Gold chest. So if you do not earn at least twice more chests by staying in Gold compared to Diamond you are loosing some earnings in average.
Obviously it is an average so up to Lady Luck in the end!

put my name in next weeks raffle 👍 big is always better and higher is always better... seems obvious but sometimes surprises you. One of my strategies is I let some battle energy build up early in the season. At season start there are always some really good decks playing in lower leagues due to season reset or maybe their strategy. I think not playing all your energy immediately, lets some of those players move on to higher leagues.

I wish they would get rid of that energy system... made to prevent bot exploits but ends up damaging real player experience, I refuse paying to play a battle for the time being!
