Out-of-Print Splinterlands Card Giveaway

Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards and give you a little history on the origins of the card. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for two years or more, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

This Week's Giveaway

This week's Blast From The Past Giveaway card is the Highland Archer.

This once unloved monster was burned by the cart load back in the old days of Splinterlands, or as they are called in the Highlands, The Dark Days. It was dangerous indeed to be an Archer from the Highlands back then. Roaming press gangs would Shanghai unsuspecting archers on the streets and send them off to the burn pits in exchange for a handful of Dark Energy Crystals.

Those Highland Archers were never heard from again!

But now, times are a little brighter for the Highland Archer. The upcoming release of Land, and the demand for workers that will come with it, has increased the value of all cards, even once unwanted cards like this one. In fact, the cheapest level 1 Highland Archer card is $0.18 on the Splinterlands market. That's more than 18 times the price of the card when so many were burned back in The Dark Days.
