Splinterlands CHAOS LEGION Pack Opening & Giveaway #3 "My First Fiend"

Chaos Legion is here, and I'll keep opening at least one pack a week and giving cards away! If my payout ends up being a whole pack, I will immediately start an additional giveaway. That's right, if this keeps going, I'll be doing multiple of these a week! Each pack, I'll briefly talk about the cards I get, and give away a card, or two, or three!

Let's check out the pack opening!:

I've had some pretty horrible packs at the time of writing, but this was my first Corpse Fiend and I wanted to showcase this pack in particular! This was opened NOT today, but today was awful and I gave away a ton to celebrate (celebrate?...) in the Discord earlier today! Cursed Windeku is a solid rare as well, so this was a solid pack.

Card Tips & Tricks

image.png

Hill Giant

Normal Foil, Common, Earth Monster

A very solid Earth card, he gets 2 Melee at level 3 and is a CHUNKY boi. HE makes an excellent low mana meat shield for Earth, and is in particular very powerful with **Obsidian and **

I paired Hill Giant with Wood Nymph to heal a solid amount of health, I also like him with Queen Mycelia and Scavo Hireling, where he becomes an absolute pain to kill in low mana, with very high sustain in his backline. He is particularly powerful in low mana No Sneak/Snipe and Earthquake/Poison, where his health really makes him difficult to get through

I don't recommend him in High Mana, he's pretty decent in most rulesets, but he really loses usability at high mana.

Cursed Windeku

Normal Foil, Rare, Death Monster

An absolutely lovely tank who helps effectively replace Haunted Spirit in many decks, although, with a melee flavor instead of an anti-magic flavor. Haunted Spirit is still king, but this is a nice little consolation prize.

Unfortunately for Death, Cursed Windeku is such a great anti-melee tank, but Death as a whole now falls apart to a lot of the faster sneak and thorns that Mylor has, and loses out to the sustain and damage of Fire, and the Armor of Water. Poor Windeku is an absolutely top anti-melee pick, but in lower leagues, he's a core card that unfortunately doesn't synergize well with the lower league meta. He's very good in Melee Only/Super Sneak/Melee Attacks from Anywhere and even Lost Magic

I don't recommend him in Snipe or Equalizer rulesets.

Scavo Chemist

Normal Foil, Common, Fire Monster

I love Scavo Chemist, he's a great support for very little mana, and gives some nice health to match! He's best of course, in Poison rulesets, along with Equalizer and as Snipe/Opportunity bait

I don't recommend Scavo Chemist in High Mana and in Snipe rulesets where you want him to survive to be clear: He's still good snipe bait.

Corpse Fiend

Normal Foil, Legendary, Death Monster

A 0 Mana Monster is NEVER NOT GOOD. Corpse Fiend has very little synergy with any of the Death summoners specifically, BUT he does eventually gain Silence, and that's nuts

Use him wherever mana allows, there's no reason not to. He's 0 mana.

I COMPLETELY recommend him in Armored, Opportunity or Equalizer, where he's either tanky, or bait >:D

Lava Spider

Normal Foil, Common, Fire Monster

The last card in the batch, a Lava Spider, this card used to have 2 range at level 1, and it was insane with snipe on a Yodin.

I don't actually use this card that much, but he has good stats and good cost for what he gives. I only tend to use him in Close Range, and even then, I try to use Spark Pixies or Fire Elemental first.

Giveaway Time!

I'm feeling like the first giveaway in a while needs to be a bigger one, so this giveaway will feature 1 Card, sorry guys I was planning to do 3, 2, 1, and then alternate from there.

Upvotes, Follows, and Tips are OPTIONAL, you do NOT need to do this, but they are always always appreciated!
