Weekly card giveaway

As I was reading some Splinterlands related posts, realized that staking SPS on players is already a thing! I remember talks about this months ago, but can't recall the details; for now, its still unclear what will be the exact purpose. Will it be another source of possible income, as in "betting" on players with best performance? Will staking be a way to help new player to advance leagues in case SPS becomes a requisite to play in higher leagues? If anyone has updated info, please let me know!

And how about the coming card sale? Having a dual splinter monster is pretty cool, but that price tag definitely puts me off; with the amount of dec needed to have a maxed card, I could probably max 2 or 3 of my legenday summoners. I'm curious to see how will the sale go nevertheless, I'm guessing whales will whale in! :)
