TIPS TO FINISH AT TOP 10 GOLD LEADERBOARD AND GET 360 SPS FROM TOURNAMENT

Welcome back to my blog, @queen-silvia ♥️. As usual, for the Social Media Weekly Challenge, I am gonna share to all of you some tips for Leaderboard fight ⚔️ and Tournament 🏛 which I hope it can be useful to rise 📈 our rating / rank at the end of Leaderboard and Tournament. As time goes by, Splinterlands is always evolving, which means there are more new strategies as some players found new meta line-up 👀 and more new cards and rulesets introduced by Splinterlands team. So in order to keep winning 🏆 the battles, whether in Brawl, Tournament or Leaderboard, we have to keep updated about the new strategies 👀.It's always fun to have discussion about the new strategies with Splinterlands 🐎 community.

Alright, Let's jump into the first sub-topic :

Below are some tips that I would suggest for all of you who want to try to get into the Top 10 of Gold leaderboard or even higher (top 3 perhaps?) :

MAKE SURE TO RENT / OWN META CARDS

If we want to get the leaderboard prize, then there's no other option except own or rent meta cards because if we don't, we'll never could get the leaderboard prize 💸. One thing that's very important is the income (leaderboard prize) should be higher than outcome (rental cost), means our rental cost should not be higher than our prize goal. Let me give you an example, my rental cost for Gold Leaderboard 🎢 (Modern format) is 20000 DEC 💎, well the Leaderboard reward for top 10 is also 20000 💎 (so it's even if we get the top 10 spot), but hey, we can still earn some benefits such as :

1. SPS from ranked battles ⚔️ and daily chests 🎁
2. Soulbound Cards 💳 (will have value when it's tradable)
3. Free complete cards to use for Tournament 🏛 and brawl ⚔️, where we can get huge amount of prize from both events.

As a conclusion, having our cards ready to fight for leaderboard is very important.

HAVE A REALISTIC AND CLEAR GOAL

The next tip is about having realistic and clear goal where to stop playing to secure the Leaderboard prize 💸. This is very important because some players don't have clear goal, they played very well in the beginning, reached the first place 🥇 but lose to another player whose the rank is way lower and finally his rank reduced 📉 by -36. This fault will make the struggle to back to the first spot even more harder because another lose will lead to another -36 reduction points. So, we really should have clear and realistic goal when climbing for leaderboard 🎢.

In my opinion, if we have complete cards, The best move is to aim the top 3 of the leaderboard because we have all the resources 💳 to get there. Even if we got a lose, we will ended up finished at the top 10. However, if we are lack of some key cards like Yodin Zaku 🦊 or Byzantine Kitty 🐺, aiming for top 10 is already pretty good goal. Stop playing is also an important strategy in Leaderboard 🎢 fight because it will secure the Leaderboard prize (as long as we are still in the range of the prize goal).

STAY FOCUS AND CALM

Well, now it's more about psychological aspect of the player 🎮. No matter how good our strategy is, as long as the RNG god is not in our side, we still could lose the game and yeah, it might make us angry but hey, we should always think positively. When I lose the game, I always write 📓 our opponent strategy down to my excel file 💻 so that I can remember that one in the future. See, we are still getting new knowledge even after losing the game so there's nothing to worry about. We will be back to where we belong 🎢 as long as we can keep winning 💪.

So Last week, I got 360 SPS 💎 as I finished at the top 7 Wild Silver SPS Tournament. Not really good result but there are some good strategies 🎓 I got when I lose the battle and I would like to share here and giving some analysis to the battle. Let's start with the first one :

BASICALLY OBSIDIAN IS STRONGER THAN MYLOR

Basically, Mylor Crowling is used only to counter melee 👊 monsters because he gives Thorn ability to all friendly monsters while Obsidian is giving +1 magic 🔮 to all friendly monsters. This contradiction makes Obsidian "generally" better than Mylor unless we put monsters with Void and Silence abilities in Mylor team. In the battle above, I have put Chain Golem who has Shield and Void because the ruleset is melee mayhem which probably the opponent will spam lots of melee 👊 monsters but my guess was wrong. he put so many magic 🔮 monsters, I should have used Elven Mystic + Khmerr Princess rather than Wood Nymph and Halfing Alchemist because Elven and Khmerr could reduce the magic damage and heal the tank monster.

Evaluation : Replace Wood Nymph & Halfing Alchemist with Khmerr Princess and Elven Mystic

"Tips 💡 : Always ready is all possibility of enemies attack, Melee Mayhem doesn't mean the opponent will go with many melee monsters"

ALWAYS ANTICIPATE YODIN ZAKU WHEN FIRE IS AVAILABLE

It's my another lose and it's against @kira1995. The mana is 40, high enough for a player to use Yodin 🦊 and Unfortunately I am going with offensive team rather than the team who could counter Yodin Zaku 🦊. The offensive team like Valnamor 💦 in above battle is not able to beat Yodin because there's no reflection shield monster to stop the blast effect from Yodin 🦊 team. In the team preparation phase, I was thinking that maybe Kira will go with Valnamor 💦 too since water is available but I was wrong. Well, Splinterlands is a game of mind 👀 and if you guess your opponent movement wrong then there's high possibility to lose the game 🎮.

Evaluation : Replace Prismatic Energy with Reflection shield monster

"Tips 💡 : High mana and Fire is available means the opponent might use Yodin"

MAKE SURE THE ATTACK OR COUNTER CAN BEAT THE OPPONENT

This is another lose in the tournament 🏛. Whenever I got Going the distance ruleset (Only ranged 🎯 monsters can be used in the battle), I always used either Ilthain or Lir Deepswimmer because both summoners give return fire abilities to all friendly monsters. Unfortunately at this battle, the opponent used Ash Mirage with his headwinds ability to reduce all of my ranged monsters attack. It reduces all of their attack ⚔️ and bring win to the opponent as they have higher damage. The Odd Ones Out make it worse because I can't use Venari Crystalsmith 💎 to restore the tank monster's health point.

Evaluation : Don't use Ilthain if Venari Crystalsmith isn't be available because the defense would be weak

"Tips 💡 : It's better to attack the opponent if counter strategy would not be effective due to particular ruleset"

ANTICIPATE MAGIC ATTACK IN ARMORED UP RULESET

Alright, this is the meta line up to anticipate magic attack and sneaky melee 👊 attack. For the first position, we have Lord Arianthus with Void and magic reflect . The void ability will reduce the melee damage to 0 and magic reflect will return the magic back to the opponent. At the backline I put Elven Mystic to reduce magic 🔮 damage so the combo is really weaken magic 🔮 monsters. In order to counter sneaky 👀 team monsters, I put Mylor Crowling with Earth Elemental who have heal ability at the backline so he could restore 2 damage in each round. Don't forget to use tank heal to keep the tank monster immortal.

Lesson : Use Void, Silence, and Magic Reflect to counter magic monsters

THE POWER OF QUEEN MYCELIA

The last match is about the battle between Mylor Crwoling in each side of both players. We both used Flesh Golem, Epona, Acid Shooter, and Chaos Agent. Can you guys see the difference? Yeah, It's Queen MySilvia, Ups, It's Queen Mycelia 👑. She gave big impact and win to her team because, first, she has protect ability to give additional +2 armor to all of her friendly monsters. the armor really useful to hold melee and ranged attack by Flesh Golem and Acid Shooter. Her second ability is amplify which increase Thorn damage whenever the opponent's Flesh Golem attack. It helps my team to defeat the Opponent's Flesh Golem first and won the battle ⚔️.

Lesson : Anticipate melee attack at Super Sneak Ruleset

"Tips 💡 : In the battle where both players use Mylor, Queen Mycelia gives huge positive impact with her protect and protect abilities."

Well, I want to share to all of you guys about my thoughts on how to play Splinterlands for free with complete decks. No matter if you own your decks or not, this strategy is still applicable. The way to play 🎮 Splinterlands for free is to rent the cards from market and try to win everything, literally everything like :

1. Tournament
2. Brawl
3. End of Season Leaderboard
4. All ranked battles

Regarding Tournaments 🏛, there are many types started from Bronze until Diamond 💎, the higher league the higher reward given so it's really important to increase our skill and win pretty nice SPS rewards 💸 from tournament, there are hundreds until thousands of SPS that we could win from that event.

The next one is brawl. Well, this event is being held in every 5 days. In tier 5, we can earn 400 SPS bonus and 200 SPS 💸 for being the winner, so generally as a Summoner's Tribe member who always win the brawl, We always get around 500 - 600 SPS 💶 in total. the number of SPS is always decreasing since new guild are moving up 📈 to tier 5. when the official Tier 5 happened, The SPS we can earn could be higher as Tier 5 is giving more SPS reward than Tier 4. Peakmonsters Premiere will be the next guild to move up 📈 to Tier 5 based on voting between each members and when it happens, there will be 5 guilds in Tier 5. I wish we can have Tier 5 brawl weekly when they joined us.

The third event is Leaderboard 🎢, the reward of finished at high rank (top 10 or top 3) is thousands of DEC 💎. If we can get all of those rewards I have mentioned above (Tournaments, Brawl and Leaderboard) we will get the rental cost back and plus some profit so in other words, we can say that all the cards we used from rental market are free. We will get more income if we have good win rate at ranked battle ⚔️ as the battle and daily chests 🎁 give us SPS too.
