How Strong Bloodlust ability in Equal Opportunity Ruleset? (Plus Giveaway #92 GF Hill Giant)

Welcome back to my blog, @queen-silvia. The current theme for the Battle Mage ⚔️ Secrets Weekly Challenge is Equal Opportunity 👀. Well, I think many Splinterlands players who participate in this challenge are really like it because with this opportunity 👀, any monsters (regardless their type of attack, whether melee 👊, ranged 🎯 or magic attack 🔮) can attack in any position. Honestly, I also very excited with this ruleset. In this article, I'm gonna show you one of cool strategy 📝 we can use when we have Equal Opportunity ruleset in our match but first of all, let's discuss about the fundamental concept of Equal Opportunity 👀 first.

 Equal Opportunity : All monsters have the opportunity ability.
Alright so if we want our monsters keep alive during the battle we have to use monsters with high health points 📈 so that it can hold the enemy attack 🤺 for some rounds, and in order to fill some other positions in the battlefield, we can use monsters who have small mana as tribute monsters 👺. This is intended to protect our main monsters who have high health points from being attacked 🗡 too early in the battlefield. Now the question is what is the best strategy 📝 when we have Equal Opportunity ruleset? Here is my thought :

1. Use Martyr abilities as tribute

Many players have used this strategy and this is proven to work very effective to increase all stats of the adjacent monsters. We have to make sure that the Martyr 🤖 monsters should be the first target by opponent attack ⚔️. What we have to do is to put the monsters in second or third position. The addition of monster with resurrect ✝️ ability will make this strategy better since we can bring martyr 🤖 monsters back to life and rise all stats of the adjacent monsters 👹 for the second time.

2. Use monster with Bloodlust ability

Any monsters with Bloodlust 🍁 ability would be very strong since they can kill monsters easily from any position. Their Blood lust ability will be activated whenever they killed 🗡 the opponent's creature and it will make them much stronger since all of their stats will be increased by +1. This will help players to win the match easily. Some monsters 👺 that we can use for Bloodlust 🍁 ability without Soulbound summoners and "Are you not entertained" ruleset are `Jared Scar`, and `Usut`.

Alright guys, Now let's have the discussion in depth in the battlefield ⚔️ where we can have more analysis to see how to use Bloodlust 🍁 monster effectively in Equal Opportunity 👀 ruleset :

Rulesets

There are only 2 rulesets in this battle, Here they are :

Briar Patch
Equal Opportunity
The first ruleset is Briar Patch 🌵. That's a good guidance for the battle since most likely any melee 👊 monsters (except for those who have reflection shield ability) will not gonna be used in this battle. The Thorn 🌵 effect from the enemy monsters will inflict -2 melee damage to each of melee monsters 👊 so the possibility of monsters that would be used is either ranged 🎯 or magic monsters 🔮. so any ability which can reduce magic attack and ranged attack like silence and headwinds and the ability to reflect the attack back to the opponent like magic reflect and return fire will be very helpful 👍 in this match.
The second ruleset is Equal Opportunity 👀 ruleset. This rule allows any monsters to attack from any position. One of cool strategies that I have mentioned above is using Bloodlust 🍁 monster and one of them is Jared Scar. That Life Melee monster in Equal Opportunity at gold level is like a god because of his true strike 🎯 ability. That means all of his attack will 100% hit the target 🗡. So it will help him to kill the opponent very easily. Jared can be used in any mana battle, low, mid and high mana, all good for that legendary monster 👺.

Mana and Splinters

There is 51 mana. It's high enough to build a team with the combination of mid to high mana monsters so of course Jared Scar 🐗 would be included in a team. The detail explanation 🕹 of each monster and the reason why I chose them will be explained in the next section.

For the splinters, there are only 2 elements available, Life ✨ and Death 💀. Well, since we want to anticipate either magic or ranged attack so Grand Master Rathe would be one of the best option thus I choose Life ✨ element for the battle. In Death 💀 splinter, we have Mimmosa Nightshade who can reduce the magic and ranged attack by -1 but Usut is not as offensive as Jared Scar 🐗 so I would prefer Life element rather than Death.

Alright guys, now let's see the line up and have discussion why I chose the monsters for the battle :

Summoner

Level 3 Grand Master Rathe

The main reason why I chose this summoner for the battle is to protect 🛡 all of friendly monsters from magic 🔮 attack through Void armor. GM Rathe gives +1 armor and can transform any armor that my friendly monsters have into Void armor 🛡. That way any magic attack which goes to my monsters will hit the armor first instead of their health points ♥️. The amplify ability has an important role to increase the damage inflicted by Thorn ability.

Tips 💡

Use Grand Master Rathe as protection against the opponent's magic attack.

First Monster

Level 5 Shield Bearer

The first monster I used for the battle is Shieldbearer. For me, he is the best life ✨ tank monster because of his taunt and shield 🛡 ability which can reduce any ranged 🎯 attack in the battle. He also has 5 armor and with the help of Grand Master Rathe, Those armor has became Void armor which protect Shieldbearer from any magic 🔮 attack. In Equal Opportunity ruleset, If we don't use monsters with martyr ability then a monster with taunt ability is really needed to protect friendly 👯‍♂ monsters.

Second Monster

Level 6 Corsair Bosun

The second monster is Corsair Bosun. I always used this monster in high mana battle for life ✨ splinter because he would be a perfect as a second tank 🚂 monster. His cleanse ability can remove any negative effect given to the tank monster (in this case is Shieldbearer). His reach ability 👊 allow him to attack from the second position. What makes him special is his reflection sheild 🛡 ability. It protects him from Thorn 🌵 damage which can inflict -2 melee damage. As a monster with 10 mana, his 5 melee damage is pretty high 📈.

Third Monster

Level 3 Jared Scar

The Third monster is Jared Scar 🐗. He is the main monster to win the battle with his Bloodlust 🍁 and True Strike 🎯 ability. Although the ruleset is Thorn 🌵 but he could restore his armor for +1 whenever his Bloodlust ability get activated after killing 🗡 the opponent monster. He is much more stronger in Equal opportunity 👀 ruleset since he can attack the opponent monster from any position and choose the lowest Health point monster. He is protected from any attack since I used Shieldbearer 🏛 in the first position.

"Tips 💡 : Bloodlust can be super strong in Equal Opportunity ruleset since it can be activated easily after killing monster with lowest HP first"

Forth Monster

Level 3 Adelade Brightwing

This monster is solely used for defense 🛡 purposes as she has repair 🔨 and resurrect ✝️ ability. the repair ability is very useful since the void armor of Shieldbearer can be used to hold any kind of attack, melee 👊, magic 🔮 and ranged 🎯. When Shieldbearer died in the battlefield, the resurrect will bring him back to life, gave him 1 health point and 5 void armor 🛡. He can hold some opponent attack for some more rounds since I have 2 repair 🔨 monsters (adelade brightwing and lone boatman).

Fifth Monster

Level 8 Lone Boatman

The fifth monster is Lone Boatman ⛵️. The purpose of this card is for giving protection 🛡 to the tank monster (shieldbearer) as he has repair 🔨 ability (just like adelade brightwing). So in this match I have 2 repair monster for defense purposes. Besides, He also has 3 ranged 🎯 damage and snipe ability to destroy the opponent monster in the backline. His speed ⚡️ is 4, high enough to avoid any miss attack towards the target.

Sixth Monster

Level 5 Prismologist

The last monster is Prismologist. This monster is used to give high damage 🔥 with his 6 total damage (4 from ranged attack and 2 from blast damage). She has 2 speed ⚡️ which may lead to miss against target who has higher speed but I was lucky that the opponent monster are relatively slow. Another ability is forcefield 🛡 which can reduce opponent damage from 5 or more to 1 only.

Alright, all the line up has been explained, Now let's move to the battlefield and see how to create team which can inflict massive damage to the opponent team using Bloodlust ability. Let's Go!

Here is the battle looks like in the first round :

The opponent decision is to use Thaddius Brood to reduce all of my magic 🔮 damage. Fortunately I only use 1 magic monster (adelade brightwing) and the rest of my monsters are melee 👊 and ranged 🎯 monsters. I am surprised that even the ruleset is Briar Patch 🌵, the opponent is still using 3 melee 🌵 monsters. Well the Thorn ability plus amplify gave them -3 melee damage and it destroyed melee 👊 monsters pretty fast. Meanwhile, My Corsair Bosun is giving 3 melee damage as there are 2 demoralize from Harklaw and Legionnaire Alvar. My defense which consisted of taunt and double repair 🔨 works very nice to hold all of the opponent attack.

Bloodlust ability activated 3 times

At the end of battle, I lost Shield bearer 🛡 but all of the death monsters are died. The second tank monster, Corsair Bosun is still in perfect state, no damage given to him and my ace card, Jared Scar has activated his Bloodlust 🍁 ability and gave him 9 melee 👊 damage, 5 speed ⚡️, 4 armor 🛡 and 7 health points ♥️. That card is really hard to beat unless the opponent has dispel ability to remove the bloodlust 🍁 effect. Life team won the match easily. This is the proof of how strong bloodlust ability in equal opportunity 👀 ruleset.

I covered this in my blog as well. Jared scar is probably one of the most famous strategies in this ruleset. I like to use it but I notice when earth is available and mycelic slipsawn can be played this is the counter so i try not to play when earth is allowed

hmmmm yes but I think jared scar is the most popular one? a bit harder to use quora only in brawls usually @_@ ? it's a rough times i still got lot of brawls to do speaking about that :c
