Challenge Rules

New Rule: Community Commitment & Reward Eligibility

To ensure the long-term sustainability and growth of the Hive ecosystem, we will evaluate the long-term commitment of participants when selecting winners. Specifically, we will review past rewards earned and currently held Hive Power (HP) as part of the selection process.

Participants who demonstrate an investor mindset by holding and growing their HP are more likely to be rewarded. Those who consistently extract all rewards without reinvesting into the ecosystem may not be eligible for prizes.

This rule aims to celebrate and encourage commitment to the Hive blockchain, fostering a strong and engaged community.

✅ High-Quality Post Requirement
All submissions must be high-quality and contain a minimum of 600 words. Well-thought-out content with structure, clarity, and originality is key. Include relevant details, examples, formatting, and visuals to elevate your post and provide value to readers.

  • Create AMAZING Splinterlands content on the HIVE blockchain. Remember, it should revolve around Splinterlands because we want to reward our incredible community.
  • Make your content visually appealing and well-structured. Need help with formatting? Check out the ULTIMATE MARKDOWN TUTORIAL.
  • Don't forget to include your Splinterlands referral link. It's a must! You must provide your viewers/readers with a pathway to the Splinterlands. Note that battle links already include your referral.

New Rule: Community Commitment & Reward Eligibility

I think you need to change the name of this challenge now, from social media challenge, to hive investor challenge.
A lot of time and effort goes into creating quality content for Splinterlands and it has been a way for those of us who don't have disposable income, to give back to the community. So to exclude content creators from the opportunity of being rewarded for their content, simply because they don't have money to invest, is not a social media challenge.
This podcast (177 weekly episodes thus far) is a team effort and I pay 1/3 of the post rewards to a co-host. This alone disqualifies me for being rewarded for the content. Additionally any other reward portion that I've spent has been on Splinterlands assets.
Please reconsider your position on this.

Hi @bobaphet let me explain my personal point of view
Splinterlands is Powered by Hive which is a dpos where stake matters and those who keep at least part of the stake show they believe in Hive and support the whole ecosystem.
By the way Splinterlands has received support from Hive through a DHF and it is only fair that it supports and rewards more those who have medium to long term goals on Hive = increase Hive Power.
The rule introduced by Splinterlands is a good rule because it reduced the number of reward farmers who did not play Splinterlands and only published to do total power down.

But the new contest rule was introduced in February and since:

  • you are an active player and have SPL assets
  • you write quality content
  • you don't have recent power downs

You are absolutely eligible to receive support in the contest although your support will increase as your stake increases (obviously I am speaking for myself because each curator has a margin of discretion).
If you continue to improve your KE and are interactive and active on Hive you will continue to receive support and your support will depend on the quality of your content and whether you continue to improve your KE. For example if you stake at least 1.x/3 of what you earn you should improve it.
You have the tools to increase your stake thanks to Hive, the rest is up to you

P.S. I curated your last post and I know the video is the main part of the post but remember to write a post with at least 600 words because that is also a requirement of the contest ;)

Thanks for the clarity. I know my KE is high, but I have been around since the steem days and I needed to liquidate most of my crypto assets (including Hive) during the pandemic when I couldn't work for a year (I was in Melbourne Australia at the time) so I am recovering from that, and because I pay 1/3 of my rewards to a co-host, the recovery is slow. The fact that I'm still here though, and I have never sold a single Splinterlands asset should show that I am not a reward farmer.

Your name is so well known in the community that I am sure you will continue to get rewarded for your posts. There are always exceptions to the rules when it comes to contributors with outstanding track record.

That's what I thought, this comment was prompted though after receiving a DM on discord from a member of SPL curation team advising me that I needed to get my KE down to 3 if I wanted to continue receiving SPL upvotes.

Hi @clove71, I started investing in SPL assets in 2021 and you know the prices were over $0.7 then. My investment worth over $400 then now is worth less than $35. Nevertheless, I'm still buying packs abd cards.

A good part of this was from my Hive rewards powered down. This is why my K.E. is high.

I endeavor to keep my SpL posts at 100% powered up and I'm willing to build further.

It's not very nice to miss curation on account of high KE for an account that is active. The HP will rise again.

I'll appreciate even if the upvote % is low. The efforts put into this post and the marketing on X (Twitter) is huge. It should at least be appreciated. Meanwhile, my X account has a growing engagement.
