Out-of-Print Splinterlands Card Giveaway

Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards and give you a little history on the origins of the card. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for two years or more, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

As an added bonus, everyone who enters the giveaway receives a little upvote from me on their entry. So even if you don't win the prize, you will still get enough Hive to buy a Splinterlands card or two from the market. If you do buy a Splinterlands card with the Hive you receive, come back and let me know which card(s) you bought. Maybe it will inspire me to increase the size of the votes I'm handing out. This Week's Giveaway

Long before the invasion of the Chaos Legion, and with it the introduction of many monsters inflicted with the vampiric disease such as the Merdhampire, Vampire Bat and Blood Maker to name a few, there was the original. Dressed to the nines in his signature tuxedo, this dashing fellow makes all the women swoon. Of course, I'm talking about The Vampire, this week's Blast From The Past Giveaway card.

With the rollout of Land once again slipping to the next quarter, I have time again to ponder how staking monsters will work once we can start using the Land we purchased long ago. Specifically, I am curious how Reward Cards will be used in staking.

Let me elaborate. There are currently 3 editions of reward cards, each sporting the background of the major edition that was active when they were released. We have the original, or Beta Reward Edition cards, the Untamed Reward Edition, and now the Chaos Legion Reward Editon. Since it has been said many times in Town Hall meetings that older edition cards will give bigger bonuses when staked on Land, I wonder if the older Reward cards will also give bigger bonuses.

This is unclear at this time since it has never been officially stated that they would give bonuses. Also, if you look at how reward cards are treated in the game, they are always group as just reward cards and not by their editions. For example, Beta Editon cards now give a 5% reward bonus in match play battles, but Beta Edition Reward cards do not. Another example is in Brawls and Tournaments, if reward cards are allowed, then all editions of reward cards are allowed even though it may be a Chaos Legion only Tournament.

I hope that in the near future, Aggroed or Yabapmatt will provide some clarity on this issue. I would hate to think that I have been hoarding all these Original Reward Edition cards to get benefits from staking them on my Land only to find out that they count the same as any other reward card.
