Out-of-Print Splinterlands Card Giveaway

Each week I host a giveaway for one of the original Reward Edition Splinterlands cards and give you a little history on the origins of the card. Most of these cards have been out-of-print for two years or more, so new players can only get them in the market, and that can be pretty expensive. These giveaways are a way to help players build their deck for free.

As an added bonus, everyone who enters the giveaway receives a little upvote from me on their entry. So even if you don't win the prize, you will still get enough Hive to buy a Splinterlands card or two from the market. If you do buy a Splinterlands card with the Hive you receive, come back and let me know which card(s) you bought. Maybe it will inspire me to increase the size of the votes I'm handing out. This Week's Giveaway

This week's Blast From The Past Giveaway is the Screeching Vulture.

As one of the first cards to have the Opportunity ability, the Screeching Vulture saw a lot of game play. It changed game play considerably. No longer was it safe to put your weak monsters in the back line and expect them to remain unmolested. The Screeching Vulture would seek them out and destroy them. And if it was leveled up, it would grow stronger with every death in the arena thanks to its Scavenger ability.

But over time, the release of new card editions introduced stronger and faster monsters with the Opportunity ability and the Screeching Vulture was forced to take a back seat to the superior monsters. As a result, its price has suffered some in recent months. Currently, the cheapest Screeching Vulture on the Splinterlands Marketplace is only $0.30 for a level 1 card. That's very cheap for a card that was used so heavily a few years ago.
